Believing in God’s Word and Spirit

Shalom. It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to Gospel Fire Evangelical Church International. GFECI is a Bible-believing Christian Church, with its foundation rooted in the word of God. The Church was founded on March 23, 2014, in Lethbridge Alberta, by Jesus Christ through the lead pastor James Phanuel.

This local church is known as gospel fire evangelical church based on the scripture in the book of Prophet Jeremiah 23:29 That states (is not my WORD like FIRE declares the lord) And EVANGELICAL is derived from the commission of our lord Jesus Christ to the Disciples in Mathew 28:20. As Jesus himself said to Them Go and make disciples of all nations, That is evangelism Outreach. And the word Church Or Ecclesia refer to the called out ones and it also refers to the body of Christ both physical and spiritual. Mathew 16:18-20 Jesus said ” And you are Peter, upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Therefore the official name of the church become Gospel fire evangelical church International.

Our Vision is to Conquer the world for Jesus Christ. With a defined mission to expand the borders of the Kingdom of God through evangelism and outreach, and awaken the church of God in our world today.

With a mandate to empty hell and fill up heaven. We believe that Jesus commissioned each and everyone of us to spread His Good News. Gospel Fire Evangelical Church International is not a church of members but a family of disciples. We focus on building up disciples rather than filling up chairs.

Equipping Individuals and families with Bible inspired wisdom and knowledge that enables them to unlock their divine potential and live victoriously in all spheres of life; Gospel Fire Evangelical Church International services are spirit filled and we continue to witness the amazing power of God on daily basis.

The Humanity

We believe that God created humankind in His image, male and female, to enjoy a loving relationship with Him and with one another. God specially created humankind as the climax of His creative work on earth and established the family, based on covenant marriage between one man and one woman, as the building block of human community. We believe individual human lives are to be valued from conception, because God loves each one at every stage of life and desires that each one will come to know and love Him. Through human rebellion against God we have fallen and have come to be marred by a sinful nature. Humanity, apart from Christ, is now spiritually dead and, unless born again through Christ, cannot see the kingdom of God. We, in our own strength, without divine grace, cannot do good works pleasing and acceptable to God or bring glory to Him as we were designed to do. Through the finished work of Christ and God’s grace experienced in the influence and empowering of the Holy Spirit individuals are enabled to exercise their will to accept God’s gift and will. Personal acceptance of Christ’s redemptive work results in a restored relationship with God and freedom to fulfill our created purpose through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Marriage, Singleness, Family, and Human Sexuality

As human beings, men and women, we are created in the image of God. God saw that his creation of humankind was very good. As a result we have intrinsic worth and are found to be equally valued by God. We believe God has established the church as a family of faith in which we are each sons or daughters. It is within this family of faith that we are established, rooted, fulfill our ministry, and find maturity in Christ. We also believe the family of faith is where the goodness of being either single or married is to be honored. We recognize that God has created human beings for relationship with him and with each other. God’s intention is for people to be blessed through families: both the family of faith and the family into which God has placed us. God created the family to be the cornerstone of social order. The home is a divinely established institution in which the husband is the head but serves its members by the law of love, and in which husband and wife are to work together to raise their children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord. Obedience to parents is to be rendered by children in the spirit of mutual respect and love. Marriage is part of God’s design in establishing the family. We believe that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. This heterosexual union is the only appropriate relationship within which the joy of sexual intimacy is to be expressed. We affirm such marriage as God’s design for a lifelong loving relationship, sexual intimacy, and the birth and nurture of children. Christian marriage is intended for those who share a common faith in Christ. Such a marriage is blessed of God.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins a substitution sacrifice according to the Scriptures and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, His ascension into Heaven, and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate. We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that all who repent of their sin and receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, empowering and equipping believers for service, with the accompanying supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit; and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

The five fold Ministries

We believe in the divinely ordained ministries of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. With regards to submission to authority, we believe in the principle of being in authority because you are under authority. As such, it is understood that membership shall be subject to submission to authority in matters pertaining to church governance, doctrine and personal behavior. We believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal Punishment of those who have rejected the offer of salvation.

The Ordinances

The Christian ordinances are two in number, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. They are the outward rites appointed by Christ to be administered in each local church, not as means of salvation, but as visible signs and seals of its reality.
We believe that the one true Church is the whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit; that the local church on earth should take its character from this concept of the Church spiritual and therefore, that the new birth and personal confession of Christ are essentials of church membership. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances – Baptism in water and the Lord’s Supper to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witnesses to the cardinal facts of the Christian faith, that Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water as a confession of identification with Christ in burial and resurrection and that the Lord’s Supper is the partaking of the emblems symbolic of the Savior’s broken body and shed blood, in remembrance of His sacrificial death, until he comes. We believe that divine healing was provided for in the Old and New Testament and is an integral part of the Gospel. We believe that the Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of the new birth and continuing until the consummation of salvation. The Church is open to any further truth, which the Holy Spirit may illuminate from the Scriptures.
